Responsible for wide array of operations including drilling, completions and work over programs in the Bakken. Managing budget of over 300MM with over 100 people in the field and office. Prepare and manage budgets, including cost look‐backs and forward cost projections. 

Mar 2013-Aug 2014 Emerald Oil Inc. Drilling Manager 

Responsible for design, engineering and managing of a fast paced three‐rig program in the Bakken. Insuring compliance with all required state, safety and environmental protocols. Preparing AFEs, budget and cost analysis of operations. Reduced drilling time by 10 days on every rig line, continuously delivered under‐budget wells. 

Nov 2009-Feb 2013 Baytex Energy USA Senior Drilling Engineer 

Managed a two‐rig program in the Bakken shale play. Generation of APD and AFE, budgeting and scheduling. Experienced in the techniques and practices for horizontal drilling and completions for shallow and deep horizons. Expert in the use of Logging While Drilling Technology in thin bed formations. Pioneered the successful development of using geo‐steering to maintain over 90% in zone performance drilling greater than 10,000 ft. laterals. Consistently drilled wells under budget and ahead of schedule. Precise well placement/steering, BHA and drilling parameters optimization. 

Sep 2006-Nov 2009 El Paso Corporation Staff Drilling Engineer 

Develop cost estimates, permits, and well drilling plans for management approval, drilling curves, casing design, mud selection, bit selection, hydraulics, cementing, directional drilling, stimulation, testing, and material requirements. Responsible for providing the design, overseeing the planning and implementation of completion and stimulation for wells, making material, vendor and equipment decisions. Monitor daily drilling /completion activities and provide engineering support to well‐site personnel. Conduct well reviews and risk analysis, troubleshot daily drilling/completion related problems and establish new practices and procedures to prevent reoccurrences. Constantly evaluate new technology to increase efficiency of operations and maintain regular safety inspections.

Customer’s well support: generate design, supervise execution and provide post‐job analysis to clients. Provide technical support and operational expertise to internal and external customers. Developed QA/QC procedures and best practices. Area of expertise includes large scale fracturing, foam fracturing, foam cement, cement spacers and light weight cement.

Conducted research on beam pumping units and work on Sucker‐Rod pump optimization with Sandia National Lab. Performed production studies on various fields with an aim to determine the market for final product of the research.

Responsible for design recommendations and technical support for several simultaneous projects. Worked in and later lead a multi‐disciplinary team of various engineers, vendors and product managers to a common goal on time and under the budget. Coordinated drilling crews, identified equipment needs as well as summarized its usage and billing.
